Night Sleep Or Power Nap?
By admin | May 9, 2008
Sleep is not an easy process by any means. Many different parts of the brain are going to control and influence the amount of sleep that a person gets. There are two natural daily peak times for sleeping. Some people get better sleep at night while others are going to get that mid day power nap in to get more rest. It will depend on the part of the world that a person lives in and what their work schedule is like. Unfortunately siesta does not apply for all of use
Anyway, speaking about work…
If you have a rocky workplace, this could very well be a cause for sleep deprivation and for insomnia. You are going to be stressed and uneasy about a lot of things when you are worried about what is going on at work. You will have to find out a way to work through these problems to make them better. Get help from a supervisor or manager to take this problem on. Once you get it sorted out, you will find that you can rest better at night and start sleeping through the night like you once did.

Slight Sleep Deprivation Or Moderate Insomnia
By admin | May 7, 2008
There can be many different causes for insomnia and sleep deprivation. Sometimes there is one main cause and other times it is a combination of things. When there are several factors combined with each other, and working against the person, it will make it hard for them to deal with the disorder in order to make things better for them and their family members.
If a person has a slight sleep disorder, this type of sleep deprivation will only last a few days. There is usually no evidence of the person not being able to function during the day and the person is still feeling good. This type of insomnia will normally go away on its own and the person will go back to getting their normal amount of sleep.
Along the same lines…
Short term or moderate insomnia means that a person is going to have sleep difficulties that last for less than a month. This mildly affects the brain functioning during the day and the person will not feel like something is wrong. They may start to feel a little irritated and get moody from time to time as well. However, once the person returns to the normal sleep pattern, they will soon start to feel better.

By admin | January 27, 2008
About one third of the average persons life is spent sleeping. This means that sleep is very important to our health and us. Healthy sleep is even more important, it is vital to a human’s body and it is going to be essential for the brain to function the way that it is intended. Other organs in the body also depend on the amount of sleep that a person gets to function properly.
Adults will need to get about eight hours of sleep per night. You have to be willing to make the necessary changes that you have to in order to get the sleep that you need and deserve. Along with cutting out the caffeine and eating better, you have to learn to relax and let things go. Try to not worry and dwell on things that you do not have to. Stress is going to reduce the amount of sleep that you get at night.
That being said…
There is no correct amount of sleep that is for everyone. In fact, everyone is different and that will also include his or her sleep patterns. On an average most people will need to have about seven to nine hours of good sleep each night, as a rule of thumb that is ok. However some people will be able to function on much less, while others have to have more than that to get through a day. It will depend on the person and what their body needs for sleep.

A College Sleep Deprivation Experiment - Failed But Funny
By admin | October 21, 2007
Great clip with three college students that decided to test how severe sleep deprivation would affect them. Not very scientific but very interesting and funnny. These guys get decidedly goofy after the first 30 hours cocktail of Montain Dew and no sleep. I certainly don’t recommend that you try to recreate this stunt, but I do recommend that you watch the clip… Enjoy
